Notes : Dropbox Passwords is currently only available to certain Dropbox Business teams with early access to the feature.

This feature is not available to customers who have signed a BAA with Dropbox. Install the Dropbox Passwords browser extension The Dropbox Passwords browser extension suggests strong passwords for your accounts, saves your accounts, and autofills usernames and passwords.

Sign in to Dropbox Passwords for the first time To sign in to the Dropbox Passwords mobile app for the first time, use your Dropbox account email and password. Important note: Save the recovery words that Dropbox Passwords gives you when you set up your account. Connect more devices to Dropbox Passwords To connect a new device, download the app or install the browser extension and sign in.

Disconnect devices from Dropbox Passwords To disconnect a device from Dropbox Passwords, follow the instructions to sign out of a device remotely.

Turn on autofill in the mobile app You can turn on autofill in the Dropbox Passwords mobile app to autofill your account usernames and passwords in websites and apps. To do so: Open the Dropbox Passwords mobile app.

Tap the gear icon. Tap Turn on autofill. Lock, auto-lock, and unlock the app or browser extension You can set the Dropbox Passwords browser extension or mobile app to auto-lock. To turn on auto-lock in the mobile app: Open the Dropbox Passwords mobile app. The app will auto-lock after 5 minutes of inactivity or any time the device is locked.

To turn on auto-lock in the browser extension: Open the Dropbox Passwords browser extension. Click your avatar profile picture or initials. Click Preferences. Click the Security tab. Under Auto-lock , click Add Passphrase. Enter a passphrase. Click Save. Click OK to confirm that auto-lock is turned on. To set the app to auto-lock after a specific amount of time, click the dropdown next to Lock after and choose 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours , or Never.

By default, the app auto-locks after 12 hours if you don't choose an option. It will always lock when your computer goes to sleep regardless of the auto-lock time you chose.

To turn on auto-lock on your computer: Open the Dropbox Passwords desktop app. Enter a PIN. Enter it again to confirm. Click Set PIN. You can also check the box to turn on Lock when my computer goes to sleep. The app will auto-lock after 30 minutes of inactivity or any time the computer is locked. To lock the app manually, click your avatar profile picture or initials and click Lock. View or save your recovery words You can view or save your recovery words any time from a connected device.

To view or save your recovery words: Open the Dropbox Passwords desktop app or browser extension.
